The new BLUES NIGHT blog…
…is going to be something of a disappointment. I’m not sure I can be bothered to write it. I really only created this page so that I can assure first-time visitors that the whole thing is still going, and that they are welcome to visit. If BLUES NIGHT has to end, I promise I’ll post that sad fact so you don’t end up wasting your time. And I’ll get my son to do it if I drop down dead.
I could tell you some hilarious tales of things that have happened here over the last eight years, but I’d rather do that in person. Of course, you might not be physically able to visit, for one reason or another, so if you’d like to find out more about BLUES NIGHT, by all means send me an email using the address below. I’m certainly not miserly with my anecdotes, as anybody who has been here will attest, but I don’t particularly want to paste them online for every Tom, Dick and Harry on the Internet to see.
I’ve, more or less, given up on social media for much the same reasons. I know it sounds miserable, but I’d started to think that I was working harder for it than it was for me. You can still use it to contact BLUES NIGHT if you really want to, but I’d prefer an email. I don’t really answer the phone much either, as it’s almost always either a scam or, even worse, somebody I actually do owe money to.
I did keep a blog for a couple of years, and it’s just about readable. Here it is…
It tells of the couple of years from having the idea to do this, to actually doing it. It’s a rollercoaster ride around every county in England in an aging motorhome. The “actually doing it” is necessarily an in-real-life thing. You won’t even find my records for sale on eBay or Discogs. Why would I do that, when i can be listening to them in a shed with nice people, some of whom, very occasionally, buy them off me?
